About Active
We got tired of telling patients they couldn't chew gum.
Active was made by a dentist and a dental hygienist in Denver, Colorado, for the denture patients who kept asking them the same question.
It started with the same complaints, over and over.

- ✗Dentures that smelled
Dr. William Paini and Amy Carpenter heard them from patient after patient. Between them they had a dental practice, a hygiene degree and about forty years of listening to people describe the same problems.
Chewing gum would have helped with most of it. More saliva, cleaner plates, fresher breath. But every gum on the shelf was built to stick, and sticking is the one thing a denture wearer cannot have.
So in 2017, in Denver, they started work on a gum base that would let go instead. Active is what came out.
The two people who made it
Between them, roughly forty years of treating denture patients.
William Paini, DDS
Co-founder
A licensed general and cosmetic dentist who founded Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry in 2004. His practice runs from veneers to implants, crowns and bridges, which is where the denture complaints came from.
